Plasma Surface Treatment is a clean, fast and reliable way to improve the strength and durability of adhesive bonds. Without surface treatment materials such as Polypropylene, (PP), Polyether ether ketone (PEEK) or Polyoxymethylene (POM) achieve poor adhesive bond strength.

Plasma surface treatment micro-etches and functionalises a surface, removing surface contamination and creating bonding sites to improve adhesive performance for both structural and non-structural applications.

Surface treaters are used with a wide variety of adhesives and sealants including pressure sensitive adhesives, spray adhesives, cold glue, thermosetting hot-melt, and curable adhesive formulations, such as Epoxy, Acrylic, Methyl Methacrylate Bonding (MMA), Polyurethane (PU), Cyanoacrylate (Instant Adhesives) and Silicones.

This in-line surface modification technology is a Green process that improves adhesion capability and bond strength and improves product quality. It increases manufacturing efficiencies, eliminates hazardous pre-treatment cleaners primers and abrasion surface preparation methods such as grit blasting, shot blasting or manual sanding/abrasion.

Plasma Surface Treatment can be easily automated, eliminating process variability and ensuring repeatable results.
